BHRT FOR MEN

Feeling the effects of aging, you're not alone

Nearly every man over the age of 30 experiences a natural decline in stamina, mental clarity, and sex drive that comes along with other changes associated with aging, due to the gradual loss of hormones. In men, this is called andropause or “male menopause” and refers mainly to decreasing testosterone levels. Testosterone levels peak around age 20, after which they steadily drop. When men approach the age of 35 to 40, testosterone produced in the adrenal glands and testes slowly taper off.

Additionally, men who have higher stress levels, poor diet and exercise regimen, experience rapid weight gain, or participate in drug use, will experience an even lower level of testosterone that is produced. Men can experience a range of symptoms if testosterone levels decrease more than they should, including

• decreased muscle mass
• increase in body fat
• decreased libido
• sexual performance
• elevated cholesterol
• decreased energy and stamina
• decrease in mental function, concentration, and depression.

Fortunately, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy can help men find relief from the symptoms they are experiencing from imbalanced hormones. At Central Wellness we create customized treatment plans for each individual client that are proven programs that include bio-identical hormone replacement, fitness, and nutrition.

We know that you’re unique, and so are your body’s needs. That’s why we work hard to understand your goals, craft an individual treatment program plan, and get you feeling your best. When your hormone levels are low and you are struggling to keep up your energy levels, it can be a real challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first step in diagnosing low testosterone is to do a blood test. This gives our medical staff a snapshot of what’s going on internally so that we can address how best to optimize your levels.

Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy for men is available in many forms. Through an evaluation of your unique symptoms and a thorough review of blood tests, your provider will recommend what is best for you. Recommended treatment options include a few different types of hormone replacement therapies, such as:

  • Pellets – An implant of Bio-identical Hormone (testosterone only for men) is placed underneath the skin in a concealed area. The implants are small, and they are inserted under local anesthetic. Pellet therapy can last for up to 6 months between insertions.
  • Creams – Testosterone is absorbed very well through the skin in most people and can be a simple and very effective delivery method. In some cases, though, men will have trouble getting adequate testosterone levels when using transdermal delivery. Transdermal delivery also risks having the hormone rub off or “transfer” to others who should not be exposed to such high levels of the hormone.
  • Injections – Testosterone can also be injected directly into the muscles and can be a very effective way to increase levels of testosterone. However, this method requires weekly or, most often, twice-weekly injections to get adequate and constant levels of the hormone.
  • Enhances well-being and mood
  • Improves lean muscle mass
  • Improves bone density
  • Decreases cholesterol
  • Improves skin tone and collagen
  • Improves ability to heal
  • Improves libido and sexual performance
  • Life is fun again!

We address this with 3 steps.

The first is to identify the symptoms based on personal medical history and lab result analysis. We customize the treatment plan with compounded hormones and supplements.

The second step is addressing nutrition and making improvements to a path of healthy eating habits.

The third step is exercise. One of the most important ways that you can extend your longevity is through physical exercise. Studies have shown that regular exercise can help you live a longer life. Strength equals longevity.
