Similar to microblading, nanoblading is a form of brow tattooing that implements a handheld tattoo machine tool and one very fine needle to semi-permanently lay pigment under the skin, approximating the look of actual eyebrow hairs. Dermal pigment is designed to fade over time to allow for future augmentation.

Individuals who are prone to keloids, struggle with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and those with extremely thin skin should speak with a professional before receiving a Nanoblading treatment.
Nanoblading session run between 2-3 hours, with the first half of the appointment dominated by consultation and brow design. It’s then that the client and artist discuss everything from desired brow shape, style, and size to deciding the right pigments and shades. An assessment of the client’s skin type is also important to determine if there may be more technical skill required to achieve the end result. Before photos are taken, a special pencil is used to temporarily draw on each hair stroke for final review and approval before actually beginning the inking process. They will then outline the brow with pigment so that it isn’t removed once the numbing cream is applied. Next, they will match the pigment to your skin tone so that the Nanoblading looks flawlessly natural. Once the area has been numbed the Nanoblading handheld tattoo machine will be used to apply tiny hair-like strokes of pigment to the eyebrow area. The tiny needles on the end of the tool will feel slightly uncomfortable, especially if you decide against the numbing cream. Nanoblading is done in layers to create the most natural effect. One point to not stress over? The pain level. Touch ups are recommended at a year to 18 months after first appointment.

Pre & Post Care

Important facts to review prior your appointment, if any of these apply to you, please contact us by phone.

Before Your Treatment:
  • Do not pick/tweeze/wax/receive electrolysis one week before the procedure
  • Do not tan two weeks prior to the service, or have a sunburned face
  • Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to the procedure
  • Do not work out the day of the procedure
  • Do not have Botox at least 3 weeks prior to the procedure
  • Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days prior to the procedure
  • Do take 1000 mg of Tylenol (no Ibuprofen) 30 minutes before the procedure
To Avoid Excessive Bleeding and Poor Color Deposit:
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (as they are natural blood thinners)
  • Do not drink alcohol for 24-48 hours before your procedure
  • Limit coffee consumption before your procedure
  • Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen for one week prior to the procedure (these also thin the blood).

How you treat your brows over the first 7–10 days will ultimately determine its healing color, final appearance and longevity. Not only is aftercare important for results but also it is also crucial when it comes to preventing bacteria invasion and added stress to the treatment site. The aftercare routine is not that complicated. It comes down to keeping the area clean and moisturized, but you need to stick to the schedule.

Day of Treatment
  • After the procedure, gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid as needed.
  • If itchiness occurs, you may take Benadryl or antihistamine.
  • Keep ointment on the area, always apply with clean hands or Q tips
Days 1 -14
  • Avoid getting the area wet including keeping your face as dry as possible during a shower. Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
  • Keep Ointment on for 72 hours post treatment (pin drop size for both eyebrows). After 72 hours, if they become itchy or irritable, reapply ointment as needed. ALWAYS USE CLEAN HANDS OR FRESH Q TIPS TO APPLY
  • Avoid saunas, swimming, and hot tubs.
  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise.
  • Do not apply makeup on or near the treated site.
  • Do not apply any creams to your face or neck containing retinol or glycolic acid.
  • Do not pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area, as it can cause scarring and color loss.
  • Keep your hair away from your brow line.
  • Do not receive Laser treatments, chemical peels, facials, or any other form of exfoliation for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.
  • Avoid drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, as it can cause wounds to heal slower.
  • Avoid Transportation in open-air-vehicles where strong wind is likely, for example; driving in cars with windows down, convertibles, motorcycles, bicycles, and boats.
  • Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep and avoid sleeping on your face.  
What to expect during the healing process:

DAY 1: Your skin will be sensitive and red. Pigment will appear very sharp and dark.

DAY 2-4: Brows may appear darker and thicker than original treatment as excess pigment pushes to the surface.

DAY 5-8: Brows may be flaking or scabbing off. DO NOT PICK. Picking may lead to scarring and color loss.

DAY 9-10: Pigment will become lighter as they heal. It is not unusual for loss of pigment or color to occur during healing. Don’t be alarmed. It will most likely reappear within a few weeks.

DAY 11-28: Brows are filling back in but may appear patchy. It is truly a two-step process and a touch up is necessary within 30 to 45 days.

PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE your brows until after the touch up appointment. The entire healing process will take 4-6 weeks depending on your body regeneration, age, and following your post care instructions.

Nanoblading can last anywhere from 12 months to 2 years, depending upon your proper care.

  • Touch up 6-8 weeks after original appointment
  • Anything after 14 – 18 months from original appointment to keep them fresh
  • After 18 months with no touch-ups a full appointment would be needed.

It’s normal to have some pain and discomfort during and after the treatment. Severe pain, excessive redness, or yellow-tinged discharge could be a sign of an infection. Please contact the office immediately if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.
