Results of a single HydraFacial MD® last around a week or more but receiving HydraFacial MD® on a regular basis can create long-lasting skin improvements.

Those with an allergy to shellfish, pregnant or lactating mothers who do not want any steps omitted, and those who are prone to herpes outbreaks need to take an antiviral medication starting the day before the HydraFacial MD® MD.

No special post care just resume your medical grade daily regimen.

Important facts to review prior your appointment, if any of these apply to you, please contact us by phone.

How does it work?
  • Discontinue use of Isotretinoin for 6 months (Sotret, Claravis, Amnesteem, and Accutane).
  • Discontinue use of topical prescriptive medications for 48 hrs. (Retin-A, Tazorac, Dierin, EpiDuo, Ziana).
  • Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatment(s) (glycolic, enzymes) to the area of treatment for 48 hrs.
  • Refrain from any Medium/ Deep chemical resurfacing and laser treatments for 1 month.
  • Refrain from waxing and use of depilatories for 48 hrs.
  • Discontinue use of OTC acne medications (Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic) for 48 hrs.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, Hydrafacial may cause a breakout; please discuss this with your provider.
  • Avoid sun tanning or tanning creams/sprays for at least 72 hrs.
  • Wait at least 2 weeks after dermal filler and Botox injections to have a Hydrafacial.
  • For Gentlemen’s Hydrafacial treatment shaving is not recommended on day of treatment. If you choose to shave, please shave at least 3-4 hours prior to your treatment.

Please review the following information to properly care for yourself after your treatment. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us.

After your treatment:
  • Avoid sunbathing for at least 48 hrs after your treatment. We do recommend avoiding sunbathing indefinitely to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin and hindering the benefits of Hydrafacial. Patients who absolutely cannot avoid sun exposure should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to maintain your improved skin.
  • Dermal Filler and Botox Injections can be resumed after 24hrs.
  • Waxing and depilatories can be resumed after 48 hrs.
  • Avoid heat (hot showers, sauna, and intense cardio) for 24 hrs.
  • Avoid makeup application for a minimum of 1 hour after treatment, but preferably until the next morning.
  • Topical prescriptive medications can be resumed after 48 hrs.
  • Over the counter acne medications may be resumed after 48 hrs.
  • Refrain from any type of exfoliating treatment(s) (glycolic, enzymes, lactics) to the area of treatment for 48 hrs after treatment.
  • Clients receiving Delux HydraFacials with the upgrade of 15% GlySal refrain from topical medications, any type of exfoliating treatment(s) (glycolic, enzymes, lactics) to the area of treatment for 72 hrs/3 after treatment.
  • Clients receiving Delux HydraFacials with the upgrade of 30% GlySal refrain from topical medications, any type of exfoliating treatment(s) (glycolic, enzymes, lactics) to the area of treatment for 96 hrs/4 days after treatment.

  1. Cleanse with Cleanser designed for your skin type from ZO Skin Health.
  2. Moisturizer to keep skin hydrated a minimum of twice daily, more if needed using ZO hydrating Cream.
  3. Apply Sunscreen SPF every 2 hours!
  4. Maintain your results with regularly scheduled HydraFacials every 4 weeks, 3 HydraFacials spanned 2 weeks apart for treating acne.
