Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy (CIT) is becoming one of the most popular non-invasive aesthetic treatments in the world. Microneedling boasts improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, acne scarring, large pore size, stretch marks, and even pigmentation issues.
How it Works
Microneedling utilizes tiny needles powered by a pen like device to create small holes in the top layers of the skin. These holes are essentially small injuries which simulate the body’s natural wound healing process. This healing process leads to increased collagen and elastin production as well as rapid cell turnover, resulting in a fresh and youthful appearance. This treatments works in the same way an anti-aging laser treatment would, but with microneedling the skin is “injured” mechanically rather than by heat or light.
